Wines for your Debate Party...Social Wino Style!
Hey y'all!
I hope everyone has had a great few weeks! Mine has been full of first birthdays, traveling, working, and NOT blogging!
But, HELLO! I'm back! : )
Now, as you all know, I live in our Nation's Capital. And, as such, the upcoming presidential (and vice-presidential) debates are a BIG DEAL.
A few things to know:
The Social Wino likes to host parties.
The Social Wino likes to bring people together.
The Social Wino likes to stay out of politics.
Make your wine festive (and FUN) at your Political Party for EVERYONE!!!
CLINTON and TRUMP are both from New York. Be sure to include a few wines from New York's Finger Lakes AVA. Some of my favorites are:
Forge Cellars: www.forgecellars.com
Dr. Frank Wines: www.drfrankwines.com
Heart & Hands: www.heartandhandswine.com
Give a nod to the vice-presidential candidates: Mike Pence is from Indiana and Tim Kaine is from Virginia.
Politics aside, y'all know how I feel about VA wines...pick up a Cab Franc! www.virginiawine.org
As for Indiana-- make the beer lovers at your party happy and grab ANYTHING from 3 Floyds Brewing Company. www.3floyds.com
If you'd like to color coordinate, pick up a RED for your Republicans and a BLUE for the Dems!
Red: Try a Pinotage- it's a cool combination of Pinot Noir (light and fruity) and Cinsault (earthy and full-bodied) sure to make everyone see eye to eye!
Blue: This sparkler is a sure pick me up for your party! www.blancdebleu.com
Green: For those Jill Stein supporters, try to include this organic and bio-dynamic beauty- with a female winemaker to boot! www.montinore.com
Yellow or Gold: This is the color most often associated with the Libertarian Party. Pick your favorite Chardonnay and call it a day! My go to is this delicious 2010 from Ramey: www.rameywine.com
And, don't forget this Social Wino Tip:
Good WINE and a good DEBATE DRINKING GAME make for a GREAT party!
Have a great week, Winos!!!!
